Why you should have an Eye Test with Occhiali Optometrists

Occhiali Optometrists really focus on quality eye care

At Occhiali Optometrist – Stoneridge on Lunn we really focus on quality eye care, so when you first come in you can expect to be seen by one of our Front of House Managers, who will take you through and undertake some initial pre-testing.

We’ve got state-of-the-art equipment here, and what it does is take a photo of not only the front of your eye but the back of your eye. It takes a really in-depth 3D scan of the back of the eye, and it looks at all the layers that we can’t see, so you can kind of think of it as an MRI for the eye but without having going into any specialised equipment, so it’s an instant photo that we can use.

We get all of that information within about 5 minutes, and then we can sit down and go through that data with you.

The reason why that is important, is being able to really understand what’s happening with your eye health in and being able to know if there is anything we can do to avoid preventable blindness.

Preventable blindness is something that we really focus on here at Occhiali, as there are so many things that can be picked up with a simple eye test – so you should get your eyes tested every 2 years at least.

That is your best chance of being able pick up anything, allowing it to be referred appropriately or treated. Things like dry eye can have a really big impact on everyday vision but there are really simple things that we can do to help get through that, and they don’t cost very much, time or money, to fix. But it’s the bigger scarier things like Glaucoma and Macular Degeneration we want to capture those early, cause if we can get those things early you are really at a higher chance of not going down the path of having avoidable blindness.

So, if you need to get an eye test, come in to see the helpful Practitioners at Occhiali Stoneridge on Lunn.
